Max was born in 2008 and is now 12 years old. He was diagnosed with Autism, Sensory Processing Disorder, and severe Learning Disability at just 2.5 years old. He has very limited speech but understands a lot more than he says. As an artist, Max enjoys photography, representative art, and more often these days, abstract art. Sometimes he wants me to hold his wrist or top of his hand and fingers in order to support his grip and give him confidence but the marks, color choices and content are always completely his. For Max, creativity is therapy. When he’s painting and drawing you can see his tension melt away to calm and pure joy spread over his beautiful face.
